The late 17th and early 18th centuries were the golden era of pirates. They took great risks and took extreme actions. The sun wasn’t always shiny and the waves were not always calm. In their wooden ships, they faced thunderstorms, freezing cold, enemy attacks and sailed to see the horizon behind the fog. During those long nights, the sweaters and cardigans woven by their wives kept the young sailors and pirates warm and close to the hearts of the beloved.

The famous red-bearded Barbarossa brothers, Aruj and Hizir, once became some of the most powerful and richest pirates of their time. The siblings ruled over the Mediterranean Sea and were admired by the Ottoman Sultan, Suleyman the Magnificent. Inspired by these two strong siblings, the Barbarossa Siblings Cardigan was made from a strong blend of alpaca and wool.
